Africa Writes 2017: Tell us who your literary heroines are

Who is your favourite female African character in a book? Record a video with your answer, by 12 June, to be featured in literary festival, Africa Writes

3 June 2017 // Eliza Ayangwe

Africa Writes, the Royal African Society’s annual literature and book festival is in a month and we’d love you to be a part of it! In partnership with us, The Nzinga Effect, we invite you, our community, – whatever your gender – to record a short video telling us who is your favourite female African character in a book and why.

All videos that meet the criteria below will be featured across both RAS, Africa Writes and Nzinga Effect social media platforms and the best will be screened at the festival itself.

Guidelines:

  1. Send to nzingaeffect@gmail.com a video in MP4 format of you answering this question: Who is your favourite female African character in a book and why?
  2. Include a full and accurate transcript of everything you say on that video
  3. In the email, make sure you provide:
    • your first and surname
    • your title
    • your social media handles (must include Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)
    • A short bio (2 sentences maximum)
  4. Deadline for your video is Monday, 12 June, 2017.

Tweet @NzingaEffect if you have any questions. Happy filming!
